Take the fourteenth amendment's guarantee that anyone born in America is an American citizen ("All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.")
The genius of giving interviews to Russian television is that those journalists don't ask you about the little details, like the fourteenth amendment.
