Surprise! The New York Times endorsed Sen. Barack Obama today. The suspense is finally over, like the paper's future.
The Times third quarter profits plummeted 51. percent. It may have to cut dividends, has written down its assets and has seen its credit rating cut.
The problem is not the Times editorial page but rather its refusal to distinguish between news and editorial. Readers are fed up with the Times undisguised hatred of conservative ideals, Republican politicians and the little people formerly known as subscribers.
