Senator Joe Biden demonstrated again today his adeptness at both malapropism and plagiarism. According to the Associated Press, Biden said, among other interesting things:
"You know, the idea here that somehow these guys are once again injecting fear and loathing into this campaign is ... I think it's mildly dangerous. I mean, here you have out there these kinds of, you know, incitements out there — guy introducing Barack using his middle name as if it's some epitaph or something," Biden said, apparently confusing the words "epitaph" and "epithet."
And, of course, the reference of Governor Palin's Rival to "fear and loathing" in a "campaign" lifts the words of Louisville native, the late Hunter S. Thompson (writer of "Fear and Loathing: On The Campaign Trail"). At least Biden has improved his source material from the days he relied on Neil Kinnock!
Please note: The postings of "G. Morris", written by John K. Bush and which end in 2016, stated his views as of the dates of posting and should not be understood as current assertions of his views. The postings, which have not been altered since they came to an end, remain on this blog to preserve the historical record. In 2017, Mr. Bush took a position that precludes further public political comments or endorsements. He will no longer be contributing to this blog.
